Quicksand Bedding! Empty Quicksand Bedding!

Post by GabbiLuvsMice Wed 22 Jun 2016, 11:19 pm

My girls keep burrowing under the wheel and so the wheel sinks and by morning they can't even run on it! Any tips? Im going to petsmart tmrw in the hope of finding some treats, more hideaways, etc.

Are you using hot glue? I've always been afraid to use hot glue In their cage, I always use it in play cages only. Is it ok to use in their regular cage unsupervised?

sure is! it's non toxic. they love to chew the wood, but they don't seem to be interested in the glue anyway. either way, it's safe if ingested.

When I'm out of popsicle sticks (which is fairly often), I put the flying saucers on top of boxes or cardboard drink trays. Same idea just not as pretty.

I used to try and make stands for flying saucers, but I had to stop because it makes the wheel bang against the tank wall and it wakes me up. Very annoying. Luckily my girls don't bury it anymore.

Mine bangs against the sides when I DON'T make a platform - if I make a platform they don't seem to be able to move it around.

Same. If I don't have a platform of some sort, where the wheel can't be moved, they always flip it or knock it up against something.

I've also had to place saucer wheels atop MESs to prevent burial, prevent movement and prevent "knocking" against the glass.

This is one of the configurations I've used and it serves as an additional hide!
