I've never baked anything, because I just freeze it, but our Quarantine page recommends baking at 140°F for 30 minutes. I've seen other places recommend baking wood at 200°F for an hour.

We cut off some branches and brought them home! Then I cut them up and baked them for an hour at 200°F just to be safe. Then I made my own homemade version of this: https://www.amazon.com/Trixie-Flexible-Wooden-Bridge-Chinchillas/dp/B000OLUT1K

What a great job!!! I have two of those (mine are store bought though) in my gerbils bin and they love them and chew on them quite often.
