Suzie Empty Suzie

Post by EverythingAnimal Tue 30 Aug 2016, 4:22 pm

My little Suzers passed on this weekend. The night before I cleaned her cage, gave her lots of treats (mealworms were her favorite) and clean bedding, another drop of ointment on her bare patch, and left her to play and explore her new toys, as always. Something told me to check on her right when I woke up and I couldn't bare look at her. She was acting normal, just a little slower the day before, and despite her OCD, I very strongly believe it was old age, as she was full grown when I got her and I had her for a long while.
How unfortunate that she lived alone for months, her friends Astra and Ellie passed on soon after introduction, and she never got to meet her new ones. On top of that her OCD never got to fully heal up. She always stayed strong throughout all of this though, and was always a happy little PEW. Millie and Cece will be introduced next weekend, I've decided to go forward with the introduction even though Millie is not progressing in her taming. I'm going to take it slow with her.

Rest in Peace Suzie, Unknown-8/28/16

I'm sorry for your loss. Rest in peace, Suzie.
I agree it sounds more like old age than OCD. I hope you're doing well.

I'm sorry for your loss. It's wonderful that Suzie's OCD didn't stop her from having a long, happy life with you. I hope you're okay.

Also, good luck with your introduction!

Sweet little Suzers...that makes me sad.  She sounds like a she was really great mouse.  I know it's easy to look at her life with a touch of sadness because she was alone for so long and had OCD.  But I'm sure she thought she had a great life... she didn't have mousie friends but she had you, and that was enough for her to live a happy life Heart
