Barbering the barber
Shaking my head. (sideways head-shaker is the closest fit emoticon that I saw) It has finally happened: The two of my mice who love to barber have finally BARBERED EACH OTHER!!!!!!
All four of my lady mice are from the same group of lab mice that I adopted last year. Early on, tiny Sarah Jane became dominant and barbered the others. I re-housed her with ginormous old Lorca for a long time to keep her in check.
Eventually, Eliza became the new lab-mouse barberer. When Eliza mowed off not only the whiskers and whisker pad fur but even the middle snout fur of her roommate, Sabine, I had to isolate her. I kept her alone for a while until big old Lorca died on September 13th. This left both Sarah Jane and Eliza in need of a new roommate, so I housed them together. I was really hoping that they would call a truce and not do any barbering. WRONG! SJ soon began shaving off Eliza's whisker pads. Liz retaliated by shaving off one, but not both, of SJ's. Every few days, I see more and more bright pink naked skin on each one's face.
Meanwhile, in the other tank, Sabine and Tegan are very peaceful and enjoy the full use of their intact whiskers and fur.
Hmm.

Bwahahaha. Funny, not funny. Sigh. You are an excellent storyteller. Mice can be such weirdos.

Aww, thanks! You are an angel. I often have no idea if the words that make sense in my head come out as anything other than rambling nonsense.
