A cool thing I figured out today
Today at work I got to thinking, looked up a few things real quick, and did some maths.
So, the average mouse, according to the internets, weighs (and I don't know if this is mean or median) a bit less than an ounce.
The average blue whale, who is not only the present largest animal we know of on earth but in fact the largest animal we know of to ever exist in the history of the earth ever, weighs roughly 300,000 pounds.
So, a mouse weighs about 0.02% of the body weight of a 200 pound adult decently sized human. That same human weighs 0.07% what a blue whale weighs.
We literally don't have an exact comparison in existence to what it's like for a mouse to be friends with us, be lifted up and held by us, hang out on our shoulders, etc. Nothing on earth is that much bigger than us. We'll never see anything so huge in our lives.
You guys, mice are the bravest and coolest.
Just think about how much chill you would have to have to be like "hm, this warm breathing mountain is making sounds at me and trapping me in its appendage. Well, can't be all bad, it gave me oatmeal once, I guess I'll just take a nap in its head fur."

Haha, that is really cool! I've always thought about how it would be to interact with a human from a mouse's perspective. I guess I'll never be able to comprehend it

Aww, I love the: "hm, this warm breathing mountain is making sounds at me and trapping me in its appendage. Well, can't be all bad, it gave me oatmeal once, I guess I'll just take a nap in its head fur." it's just too cute! This is a really cool topic to think about, imagine if you were a mouse! They're brave!

I think if a blue whale fed me chocolate I'd be his friend.

I'm more interested in the fact that you were compelled to do recreational math to figure this out!
It is very interesting though. I'm always amazed by the amount of trust they put in us. Its part of what I love about them.

LOL there is no such thing as recreational math! Recreational Punnet squares sure, but maths are just a means to an end. XD I wanted to know how much bigger I was than Flynn so I found out, and I wanted to know if a blue whale was the same amount bigger than me. Now of course I want to know how much taller we are... pretty sure even a Sequoia tree is not that tall in comparison because mice are so low to the ground while we stand upright!
I'd pee my swimsuit if I came upon a blue whale, but not because I think it's going to care about me one way or the other- the problem is that I'm a terrible swimmer and even a blue whale that was ignoring me completely could kill me by swimming past if I couldn't dodge a flipper. Even though I love swimming, because I'm so bad at it I really don't care to have anything in the water with me that's much bigger than a baby goldfish. If I met a blue whale that was somehow on land and okay with that by some miracle, then who knows, maybe we'd be pals, but I mean, wow that is a large animal, I think I might have to give something that huge a side eye on general principle, at least until it starts dispensing goodies, heh.
I'm pretty awed by their trust, especially after I had to do ikky uncomfortable things and rub medicines on him that he hates, and like flip my hammie over to check he's not wetting his tummy, clip his nails etc. A bit of a rub and a treatie and it's all forgotten and I'm super great again.
Then again, when you think about it, they aren't just brave, they're pretty smart too. I mean, when you make an ally of a giant that's got to be a decent survival strategy...
