My mouse tank setup. First time owner
Okay I have yet to have my mice but here's my setup that i'll be using for the first week:
" />
It'll be simple at first, I will like for them to get use to it and their environment. After a week and with their first clean i'll add many other items in there. Very much thinking about giving them a hammock and sorts. If any of ya'll recommend something that'll be great!
btw that puzzle playground took more then 30min for me to build

I'm not sure about the safety of that log - the ecotrition snak shaks have pine wood shavings as the first ingredient so my immediate thought is not safe.
It looks like you have some good things! I recommend buying some safe fleece and making some hammocks + other hanging toys. Mice love them.

I agree about that log. The other problem with things like that is that they have no nutritional value, so the mouse spends all their time eating junk instead of healthy food.
Otherwise, everything looks great! I know what you mean about the little playground! I had one *once*. I threw it away after a couple weeks! The mice loved it but I did not.
You can keep the tank simple for the first week if you want but there really isn't any need to. Hammocks are a great idea. Other things they love are toilet paper rolls and cardboard egg cartons. Have fun!

That reminds me: Cardboard drink holders make good ladders and saucer holders, especially for mice allergic to wood.

My apogizes for the late reply but I was meaning on replying to this a lot earlier, to continue this it should be noted that after posting this I did read your reply and took the log out. I really do not want to harm my mice. At the moment I'm not using the log as I read it's also not really good for any animal really. (I would've given it to my bunny, but after reading reviews decided not to). So it looks like this log will be going in the trashRiver wrote:I'm not sure about the safety of that log - the ecotrition snak shaks have pine wood shavings as the first ingredient so my immediate thought is not safe.

Those puzzle playgrounds are a blast. I just learned that they're only $6 on Amazon... I can get two for what I'I'd pay for one at the store. Yeah!
