Time for a time out? Empty Time for a time out?

Over the past few days, Lilac has been SO mean to her sisters. She is the only mouse that is scared of me, I haven't been able to tame her down, while my other girls are fairly tame. These are the incidents I have observed:
  • I put a spray of millet in the tank, and she kept pulling it away from anyone who wanted to eat some

  • Blossom came to the wheel, and Lilac started nipping at her and chasing her

  • Holly came to the wheel, and Lilac started nipping at her, Holly left

  • Then, out of nowhere, today she grabbed Holly by the fur, and Holly struggled to get away, got away, then was grabbed again, and I opened the tank to scare Lilac away, Lilac ran, and Holly went to the nest to hide. Holly never fights back, and can't fend for herself, so the fact that she is picking on her seems dangerous, should I give Lilac some time by herself?
Sad

I would separate Liliac for a bit, personally. Maybe she would do better with another colony, if you have more than one...? I'm not very experienced here, though. I hope it'll be resolved. Good luck! Heart

I have a trio, but they are in a 10 gallon, so it is at max capacity. Thanks for your opinion! Yeah, I really want to separate her for a little bit. I hope it works out...

If you think she's being too rough, it won't hurt to separate her. But I don't know that I would. I've seen similar behaviors in my mice and although I hate it, they seem to work it out by themselves without my intervention. I really hate it when one will bite and hold on to another while they try to get away. I hate that so much. But there isn't blood, so they can't be biting * that* hard.

So, I think it will be fine either way. Sometimes they just get bratty. Time outs are very effective, so you can give it a try. It certainly won't hurt.
