Sick or not?
Daisy is acting really strange I picked her up because she wasn't moving when I touched her (She usually runs away because she's not very tame). She's about 1 year old and very big. I can take her to the vet but I can't take her right away, it will be a couple days. If she needs to go to the vet, is there anything I can do for her in the meantime? I'm not sure if she does though, maybe she doesn't need to go the vet? She was sorta walking in circles, so my immediate thought was stroke. Is it maybe a stroke? She's not really breathing any heavier than usual, so I'm not sure. I don't know if she's eaten or drank yet today, but I saw her eat yesterday. Reading back on this post, it sounds like I'm talking really fast . I just hope it's not anything too serious. I will share some pictures of her acting unusual, and a video is coming in a minute.

Re: Sick or not?
My mom said that if I need to take her to the vet, she can take me tomorrow evening.

She does seem a bit...disoriented? I personally would go to the vet but someone else with more experience may have different advice.

Re: Sick or not?
Ok, thank you! My mom said to wait a few hours before making an appointment, to see if she gets better. She really isn't herself, though. I don't know, it's really strange. I've never fully understood how illness spreads in mice, should I keep her away from the others or will it be fine? I don't really know how that works for mousies.

They've already been exposed to whatever's going on and separating her will just add to her stress. As long as they're all getting along I wouldn't.

Re: Sick or not?
Thank you. I just checked on her and she had a ton of discharge around her eye. It was like a white circle around her eye. We made an appointment for 6:00 tomorrow. What could it be, an eye infection? I'm a little nervous because I have never been to the vet before, except a few times for our dogs to get their shots and get spayed. What can I expect? Is it as simple as the vet examining Daisy and me buying medicine for her?

Re: Sick or not?
They just called back and said the exotics veterinarian leaves at 5 :/ We had to reschedule to 4, and hopefully our schedule works around that, but if not, I have to wait longer I hope it works out, I really do.

Re: Sick or not?
Sorry for triple posting, I'm just worried about her! I just wanted to say that she is refusing water from a dropper, and chewing on bedding...? I thought maybe she was hungry so I put food in front of her, but she got scared and left. Should I clean out the tank soon, to make everything plain and simple for her? Thanks so much again!

I think it's a priority to get her to the vet as soon as possible. I would make my schedule work to be able to go to the first available appointment the vet has. If she is ill, the sooner the better as mice can go downhill quick. Please keep us posted. I hope she will be ok. She sure is a beautiful girl.

Unfortunately, I can't change my parents' schedules. I can't drive, otherwise I would probably be able to take her myself. My parents work all day usually, but tomorrow my dad should hopefully get off early. Thank youRodents rock! wrote:I think it's a priority to get her to the vet as soon as possible.
