Sneezies Empty Sneezies

Post by mightiermarvel Fri 09 Mar 2018, 11:29 am

Hi I'm a very frustrated mouse owner right now. I currently have two sneezing mice. The only symptoms they're having is sneezing and maybe a slight lack of energy. That's it,they're both eating, drinking, active, nose and eyes clear, etc. I'm really thinking it could be allergies but I don't know what alternatives to bedding there are.
I use the most basic bedding I could find in the store, kaytee clean and cozy.
The sneezing had been going on for weeks and it's driving me nuts. I currently cannot afford to take them to a vet, which is also making me feel guilty.

Which type of Kaytee are you using? Is it scented?

Just the plain white, unscented.

Are they constantly sneezing or just once in a while? How long have you had them?

One mouse is almost constantly and the other not as much. I've had one for over three months and the other for about a month. They're both from petstores.
I have two others and they are unaffected.

Hmmm. Maybe try switching the bedding to see if that helps. If you put them on something less dusty for a while and they’re still sneezing like that, I definitely recommend a vet visit.

More on types of bedding here: Cleaning, Odor, and Bedding.
