Highlight of the night... cat trying to bite me, me yelling with my half-gone crackly voice, "I'm not doing it. Stop stepping on your tail and it won't hurt anymore, psycho." Broken tails and colds are such a blast!
I can just picture that! What a psycho cat!

It sounds like your boy will be tamed up in no time, @Winter Moose! Watch out for him darting up to your shoulder and hiding where you can't reach.
I can't wait! Any tips for getting him to walk into my hand without the hand bridge game? Or should I keep playing until he tries to climb on my hand more often?

It was fun to read. Neat to see things through different eyes. Your cat sounds like a trip!

Re: What are you doing today?
Well, today I got a cute polka dotted and lavender fleeced hammock for Moose from a friend on the Hamster Hideout forum! She sent a little baggie of oat sprays as well, and the hammock is very nice. It fits in Moose's 10G perfectly. I've got him out for a play session, and he's still a bit timid. He'd rather not climb in my hand for now, but once I hold him he's a wee gentleman.

Re: What are you doing today?
My cat really is nuts. He was a sweet kitten, though. One night he was sitting behind the TV growling at us. And he takes his rivalry with the hairbrush to bloody levels!
I feel really bad for him and his tail though. He fell asleep and rolled off the back of the recliner all the way to the floor. The vet said it would heal in a few weeks but it seems more of it is drooping than before. Hopefully it's not something worse.
@Winter Moose Just keep up with the handling. You can mix it up a bit, too. When he seems comfortable stepping into your hand from the box, switch up the game and try scooping him instead. It takes time but it's worth it!

Re: What are you doing today?
Thanks @Peachy! I will definitely try that.
I went to Petsmart this morning, and got a bunch of stuff! I got a yellow plastic bird ladder on clearance; this wonderful bird toy that has coco fiber, wood, and sisal braided rope with part of a coconut shell on top; the Nat Geo natural variety chews; green carefresh; and reptile sand for my hamster. So far Moose loves the hanging bird toy and a willow ball from the variety chews the best. He was wrestling all around with it before he bumped into the water bottle.
I spent an hour or so working or cleaning and rearranging Moose's tank. I tried carefresh for the first time, so my tank has an orange background with green bedding. It looks sort of Halloween themed, but I think I'm going to enter a picture of Moose on the pumpkin I bought for the critters. Just gotta figure out the camera.
Apparently he enjoys burrowing, because he's digging a hole under his two story hamster house.

We watched Aristocats today and the kittens enjoyed watching it with us, which was adorable.
@Winter Moose I know I never comment on your posts but I absolutely love hearing about your little Moose Mousse. I can tell how much you love him!

Aww @Artistwolf that warms my heart! I just get so excited about him, and want to tell everybody that he's a weird little dude that thinks he's a hamster. (He prefers tunneling and making burrows to climbing with his new cage setup
@micearecute He definitely does! He just wants to play play play until he falls asleep in his little tunnel under the carefresh. I love my baby Moose.

I love how fake that looksPeachy wrote:I've been watching Mr. Young on Netflix, and there was an episode where they cloned a hamster and gave him growth hormones. And then this happened.
It was so cute!

Oh, little Milo is so heartwarming. I took him out to play today and he hid in my hair the whole time. When I put him home he got Cheerios, dog kibble, and lettuce. He's scared of the lettuce! He won't go near it. It's hilarious. Just like a human kid, no veggies for him! lol
