Mice sleep in some odd positions.
My mice have a two-story hidey house from Petco, and while I can't see into the bottom since it's stuffed full of bedding, and that's where they usually sleep, one will occasionally nap on the top floor. And I've noticed that up there, they both sleep in the strangest positions! They curl their little heads up under their body, in a comfortable little ball. I'd never seen mice sleep before - it's pretty strange looking! Wonder if all mice sleep like this. It's pretty new to me to be able to see them sleeping. Cute though! Thought I'd appreciate the cuteness of resting mice.

My Rosie sleeps like that! I got worried the first time I saw her do it, but it's just a normal thing she does. She's the only one of my girls who does.

I once caught my mouse sleeping on her tummy with her arms sticking out in front of her and her hands touching. It looked like she was praying!

One of the mice I got a photo of at the pet store was sleeping like that, too. I think they just fall over where they stand!

Too cute. One of my girls also has a pretty strange sleeping pattern. I catch her awake plenty of times during the day, just playing with her toys and minding herself - guess this explains why she wakes up so late at night. Not sure why she does this!

Re: Mice sleep in some odd positions.
Wormy, my mouse that loves heights and usually can be found sleeping on top of her water bottle, sleeps now on top of a single popsicle stick on its side. She sleeps on it with it digging into her stomach, so she's formed an upside down U with her body. It's wrapped in 1 sheet of toilet paper draped off of it, it's not even wrapped, it just is hanging down, with which she clings to with her back legs. I have no idea how she does it, as it has to be uncomfortable having the thinest edge of a popsicle stick digging into your guts as your entire bodyweight crashes down on it but she does and for hours.
Just to be clear, the popsicle stick is lengthwise and on its side, inbetween 2 towers. It's literally the skinniest part of the popsicle stick she sleeps on top of, with as little of her body on it as possible, so all her weight is jammed into a thin strip on the middle of her stomach. It's insane. She balances her entire body on it and then sleeps.

Mine usually curl up kind like how a cat or dog sleeps. But one will usually have their head resting over the other one's head, it's so sweet.

To sleep, I'll usually just have an open-topped cardboard box and line it with a thick sheet of polar fleece. My girls use it as a bed. If that's not available one week, they'll just pick a hide to sleep in.

I just caught my Suzie (The vet and I are still trying to figure out the cause of her sneezing) sleeping curled up in her food bowl! I didn't notice until I took it out to refill... too bad I couldn't get a picture! So cute!

Ah! My girls either sleep curled up, or in what Soren called 'cannon ball mode'. I had a gerbil once that slept halfway on her back - worried me the first times, but ends up that she was just a weird sleeper. Wonder if any mice sleep that way.
