mouse news
I am delighted to report that my little Bitsy is turning into quite the love bug. When I got her she was as wild as they come. She was an expert jumper, squinty eyed, tail rattling, bratty little thing. Then she softened up a bit but then Annie got sick and she went feral again. After Annie died, I worked very hard with her, mostly so that I could reintegrate her into the colony. And I would have been okay fine if that was all I got. But this little mouse also put in a lot of effort into our relationship. And I am happy to report that last night, she nuzzled me, let me stroke her cheeks and bruxed. A lot! Bitsy! Difficult mice give the best snuggles.
Jellybean is in heat and nobody wants any part of it. My female tank is so funny right now. Jellybean is chasing around everyone and trying to hump them. Everyone is squeaking. She even tried to hump Gilly... so funny. Gilly was just going around in circles. I could almost hear Gilly saying, "Shoo! Go on, git!". Poor Jellybean, all those adolescent hormones.
And finally, my big 'ol Teddy bear is making excellent progress. He still doesn't like to be held, but he doesn't mind walking around on me. I've only had him out of the tank twice so far... I think he'll be snuggling in no time. I wish I knew more about him. I noticed he has some scabs on him back. I started him on ivermectin the day I brought him home... but I wonder if he was in a fight or something. He has a deep notch on his left ear that is healed. Also, his tail is shorter than my other mice (and doesn't seem as pointy)... yet he's bigger than all of them. I wonder if he had an injury and is missing the tip of his tail. I mean, I guess he could just have a short tail... but I really don't think so. Interesting.

Re: mouse news
I had some mice with tails that were a little bit short and blunt. Apparently the mum bit the tips off when they were babies. Not sure why. They were nicely healed though, and it didn't bother them. Luckily Teddy Wigglesworth is a very handsome mouse, so with his ear notch you can just tell him he has rugged good looks
Glad to hear he's doing well. And that's adorable about Bitsy.

Re: mouse news
Mabel's got a tail like that. Shorter and thicker. Apparently it's because she has Manx genes. I have no idea if that's true or not. I sometimes wonder if she just lost her tail and the old owner didn't wanna tell me for some reason. But then again, her tail is pretty thick!
But I digress. Good to hear your mice are all doing well! ^.^

I think Graham is in heat too, so I can relate with that part!
Bitsy sounds so lovely - do you have any photos of her?
I'd bet Teddy got into some sort of fight, considering his circumstances, but I guess we can't know for sure. I'm glad you're all doing well.
