Play pen and mouse items!
Right so I almost have everything my mice could ever need (other than bedding, food and some chews. Those are on the way and should arrive soon!) So I decided to post some pictures of the stuff I have brought over the past few weeks;
Today I got some craft stuff, I believe this glue is safe as it is non toxic and water soluble. The stuff in the bag is shredded
cardboard which I think they will love to climb!
The travel carrier I got online,
Silent spinner in purple (6.5)
I put some sample toys onto a few sheets of paper to try and see what different layouts I could make
Saw this in a shop a few weeks ago and immediately thought about how great it would be to store treats in!
This is just an egg carton and some TP tubes I have collected
A group of toys and items I have collected recently
Finally we have a play pen that I made out of the box my tank came in. I will show pictures of my tank when it is set up and ready for the girls!

Lots of fun stuff! I'd be careful with that play pen, It seems that they could jump, climb, or chew out easily if you look away for a few seconds. That's why I stick to the bathtub!

Very nice stuff there! I like that wooden log/tube with all the holes!
I'd think the playpen would be fine so long as they're not unattended, I've used a cardboard one before

Nice! I've been wanting a travel carrier like that. So much cuter than the kritter keepers I have. Let me know how you like it.

Cute stuff. I love the strawberry house. I had one (or a similar one) for my first girls but I don't know what happened to it. I tend to bury mice with their favorite toys, so maybe that's where it went.
I made a cardboard playpen to use on the carpet in my bedroom. It works perfect as long as I watch them. So excited to see more pictures of your girls and their setup!!

Lots of nice stuff!
I've got a log with holes in for Colin - its one of his absolute favourite toys, and always has been!
He likes all the ones in that same style (I forget the make...I normally buy them from Pets At Home). He's got a burrow box (because he loves digging) and a bridge. I'm really excited because he's hopefully got a climbing tower coming in the same make...it looks like the sort of thing I'd have loved to play on as a child if they'd have made it human sized!
That also looks like the travel carrier I have! Colin goes in it on cage clean outs and I've discovered if you put a very thick layer of bedding then he absolutely loves to dig in it...I'm sure thats one of the excitements of cage cleaning day for him...that and getting a new cage layout!
(Also - I've used the same glue for Colin, its non-toxic and safe )
I bet you can't wait to get your mice!

That is a cool log tunnel, and I'm sure they'll love the log cabin too.
Make sure to test the water bottle if you haven't yet... It looks like one I tried, which wouldn't dispense consistently.
Is that a jar of Q-tips?

Re: Play pen and mouse items!
Your girls are going to be so happy! I have used cardboard playpens before with supervision, they have been fine. Mice tend to be more focused on the toys that on chewing their way out, in my experience. My only concern about your cardboard box is all the tape on it... it can be very bad if they ingest any of that tape. So just keep a close eye on them.

Re: Play pen and mouse items!
I intend to replace the tape with glue on the bits I can and cut off the bits inside the play pen as I seemed to of used a bit to much
I have tested the water bottle and it doesn't leak, I will have a spare on hand as well! As for the Q-tips they're just for cleaning hard to get to places of some of the toys ect. Don't intend on using them often

Re: Play pen and mouse items!
So much good stuff! You (and the girls) will have a wonderful time trying out new set-ups but don't be disappointed if their favorite toys turn out to be plain old TP tubes and egg cartons !

Re: Play pen and mouse items!
You should look online or at a wal-mart at buying popsicle sticks by the box of 1000.
50 or 100 sticks probably won't last long if you are anything like me. It's much much cheaper in the long run to buy a big box.
And a hot glue gun is so so so so so so so so so so so much faster. Took me a year to figure that out. Gotta be careful with those though.
