4 approx one day old pinkies
Found these little guys last night and have them in a box with a washcloth. I can't do the 24 hr care they need so am just trying to keep them warm and showing care for them as scaredymouse suggested last night. I hate it has to be this way, but have no choice. Just going to keep them warm and comfortable until nature takes it course.
My question is, we have a shed outside that has mice in and out all the time. I've read other mice and even rats will take over litters sometimes are chances greater that they'll be eaten, due to males coming around and human scent. Or will they be taken in?
If the chances are greater that they'll be eaten by something in here I think I'll just stick to what I'm doing. Although I'm debating which is more humane.

I'd keep them in with me. There's no way to know who will find them or if there's even any nursing momma mice that visit the shed. Either way, this must be so hard. Kudos for caring enough to do what you can for these poor babies.

I would also keep them with me... I can't imagine how heartbreaking this is for you.

I am. Everywhere I go, their little box goes.
Now there are only 3 left. Lost another one earlier.

Honestly, I would put them in the shed. They have a greater chance of survival there - there's at least the chance some nursing mother will find them there, no matter how small. They'd die in captivity if the care can't be provided, so I'm not really seeing the point in not taking the chance, unless I've misinterpreted?

If they went into the shed, most likely a predator would come and eat them. A rat, a crow, or something. The hard thing is the babies would pass more peacefully by staying with the OP, but at the same time, their meat could keep alive another poor animal out there in the wild, or feed other children who still have their mothers. It's a hard decision, but in the end, it's up to the OP.

I'd keep them in just because keeping them warm and comfortable would be my priority. If something DOESN'T come to nurse them (or even eat them) they'll be wiggling out of their nest (like they've already done), spread all over the ground, cold... and dying.

Thanks everyone I appreciate everyone's opinion
Right now their box is in top of the dryer, so staying warm at least
They are wiggle worms I tell ya'! All over the place and working their way out as soon as I cover them up!
Just like kids!

Aw, it's so sweet of you to at least keep them warm. Maybe you could try putting some water-soaked cheerios in there or something on the off chance they'll learn to eat by themselves? I know, it's a ridiculous thought, and probably pretty hopeless, but still.
Honestly, when I first read this... my immediate thought was just putting them all down, or culling them. That way, they wouldn't slowly die. I know, it sounds heartless and cruel, but... I don't know. Up to you

Re: 4 approx one day old pinkies
I thought about that also. I'm really confused...put them where they will possibly be dinner for something else around here or slowly dying. I have no idea how to euthanize them and truthfully don't know what to do from here.
They are funny little things though. Wiggling and squirming around,. As soon as I cover them up they're right back out again. There has been two that are stronger and more vocal than the rest. They have been squeaking all kinds of things at me today! I'm not sure if I should be offended or not!!

They're probably squeaky and squirmy because they're hungry. Euthanizing is something I didn't even think of, but I've euthanized baby moles before. It's nothing you can't find on Google, but I can PM you.

This link should take you there. https://petmousefanciers.forumotion.com/privmsg?folder=inbox
In the navigation bar where you log in or log out, there should be buttons that take you to your inbox. They'll say Inbox or New PM.
