Re: Female Mouse Alone URGENT!!!!
It has to be metal wire, they will chew through anything else. I've never made a bin cage but I'm sure someone will be along soon to point to you in the right direction.

Re: Female Mouse Alone URGENT!!!!
Fabric? No, they'd easily chew right out of that. If you can't find a smaller meshed hardware cloth (chicken wire), maybe try doubling it up with the top piece set in a way that it makes smaller openings? Fastening it together tightly. I'm not sure if the drilled holes will provide enough ventilation.
Edit: oops, I missed Scaredy's post already answering about the fabric.

Re: Female Mouse Alone URGENT!!!!
You want more holes than that.
Try and imagine adding all the holes together and how big a space that would be. You want it to be a fair amount.
Also try and keep the holes higher up and all around the top part of the bin. Ideally the bottom 3/4 of the bin should be hole free so there is no breezes.
Mice can squeeze through small spaces or try to and get stuck so making sure the wire is overlapping is probably a good idea.
You may also want to monitor for the first few days, if the mouse is trying to chew out of the bin. Probably won't be but just keep an eye out. Chewing on the sides for a few seconds is no big deal, but if it is spending 5 plus minutes chewing on the same spot, then that would be an issue.
