I am getting new mice tomorrow.

It's best to let them settle in for a few days. Being in a new environment can be pretty stressful for them.
Are you getting males or females? Males need to housed alone and females do best in groups of three, but there should always be at least two.
A 10 gallon aquarium (with a screen mesh lid) is the perfect size for either one male or three females.
