Hello There! (New Member)
Hello, meet my mice! I have four little girlies, and I purchased them from a breeder about 45 minutes from my home. I did a ton of research prior to getting my mice, and I thought I wasn't ready. I wasn't. I learned so much more, and all I needed was experience. My girls are well taken care of, and I give the mice so much love and affection. My mice are everything to me.
The originals, Andromeda, Atalanta, Artemis, and Athena didn't get along with each other very well. Since Andromeda and Atalanta are sisters, they were closer. However, Artemis and Athena were bullies. This made the problem worse. Athena would be shy and timid, and if you walked last the cage, it was like pin-balls striking home. Thy would steal food, and just be general bullies to the other mice. Artemis and Athena weren't very close with me, but the other two sisters were quite Hand-tamable. Artemis was a blue coat, and Athena a Siamese satin. The sisters, Andromeda and Atalanta, are pieds. (Variations of white coat with black and grey spots) The sisters were angels in my eyes.
One day I was cleaning the girls' cage. I went to pick Artemis up to put her in the travel carrier. She thrashed around, in my hand, jumping off my hand, and hitting her body on the wall of the tank. Why couldn't she just behave like the sisters?! Unfortunately, she couldn't. I observed her for a while to see if she was ok, and she was fine. After this incident, I called my breeder, and explained to her the situation. I had decided to return Athena and Artemis to her.
After having just the two sisters in the 20 gallon long aquarium for a couple of weeks, it was quiet. Then I received a call from the breeder telling me that she had a litter of pieds that had just been born a couple days prior. This group had the same Father, but a different Mother than my girls that I already had. It was a miracle. Around three-four ish weeks later, I was a mouse-mommy of four girls again.
Andromeda, is one of the oldest. She was born on October 15, 2016. Andromeda is white and has just a few grey spots on her back, and one on her face. They have gotten lighter now, but were more prominent when she was younger. Andromeda has black eyes. She is very playful, and likes eating Cheerios.
Atalanta, is also one of the oldest. She was born on October 15, 2016. Atalanta is sister to Andromeda. She is also white, and has quite a few spots on her, but they are a darker grey. She is easy identifiable because she has a large black spot covering half of her face. Her eyes are dark, like the rest of the girls. Atalanta loves to dig, run on the wheel, and renovate the cage.
Asteria, is one of the younger ones. She was born on January 11, 2017. Asteria is also white, and has a lot of dark black spots on her back, including a few on her face. She is very gentle, and learns things very quickly from the two older mice. She enjoys being held by her mouse-mommy, and playing with the others.
Ariadne, is the other young one. She was born on January 11, 2017. Ariadne is a loving mouse, but is very curious. She is always the first to investigate a new toy, or go check out what's in the food dish after I put food in it. She is almost completely white, with one black spot on her neck. Ariadne has dark eyes, ones that always twinkle when she's is being mischievous.
Asteria and Ariadne are sisters, as well as Andromeda and Atalanta. All together, half sisters!
All the girls names have a theme. My mice have names that are greek goddesses, or females heroines that have inspired me. I love Percy Jackson, Heroes of Olympus, and Greek Mythology all around. Real nerd of me. I will add some pictures later. You can look up the names on the internet and read the stories of the names. I hope you enjoyed reading about my girls! If you have any questions or comments, post below.
Wishing you the best, Greek Girls Mouse Care

Welcome! My first girls were Athena and Artemis, and then Demeter and Aphrodite. (And then Opheleia, Leda, Apollo, Orpheus, Hermes, Hephaestus, and Castor. I took a Greek mythology class in college and loved it! )
Your girls sound cute, can't wait to see pictures!
