Celyn and Rina are getting chubby
I've been through this with Hashbrown and Daryl, both brindle, so I'm not really worried. I'm just curious if, like brindle mice, agouti mice are prone to becoming overweight? Here's a picture of Celyn, she's around 46 grams. Rina is a bit chubbier at 49 grams. Not FAT but definitely getting pudgy. Where Seren and Hazel have begun to balance out, Rina and Celyn seem to continue to slowly pack on the grams.

Re: Celyn and Rina are getting chubby
I don't think they are especially prone like brindles. I like my mice a little chubby. I noticed that my new alpha just got fat. Everyone else seems to be an average size but Annie looks like an egg now with a tiny little face, lol

Re: Celyn and Rina are getting chubby
Thanks, Scaredy. So far those 4 mice have been my only ones to become overweight. Hash and Daryl both got up into the 60s ..... and didn't carry it well (I know some mice are just overall large). But Hash especially had some difficulty climbing around because of her weight. I'll just keep an extra eye on my little tubby-tubs.

I always just figured that larger mice had larger mice somewhere in their line, not really related to anything special. lol
Anyway, nothing to add, only really wanted to say that that picture is adorable!

Haha aaw she's adorable
Someone once told me that mice don't tend to overeat and obesity in mice tends to be genetic. As long as she is eating a healthy/balanced diet, I wouldn't worry. Just limit the fatty/high calorie treats
I had a little fatty once. She was a "lethal yellow" ginger mouse though, very prone to obesity. She looked more like a hamster I adored her.

Great photo!
They are certainly not lacking any stimulation or exercise with all of the fun toys you provide!

Re: Celyn and Rina are getting chubby
My one true Agouti, Carmen, was always just a nice-sized girl. That said, Willow, a broken Agouti, turned out in adulthood to be a broken brindle (her stripes didn't show up until she was a good year old) and, at that point, she really bulked up. If either of the girls starts to put on those grams, keep an eye on their fur for those latent telltale brindle markings.

Re: Celyn and Rina are getting chubby
Ok so something is going on. I've weighed them all twice since the 3rd (the weights listed in the first post) and they've gained 11 grams each! Despite the same diet and exercise as the other two girls. Seren is holding steady right around 35 grams and Hazel right around 33 grams. Celyn and Rina are 6 months old - both born Nov 20, 2015. Seren is around a week older and Hazel about 3 weeks older. Time to up the healthy fresh foods and exercise I think. Won't hurt my trim girls and hopefully will keep my two tubby tubbies from continuing to pack on the grams. I wasn't really worried before but I am a little bit now.
In other news, Seren is still going about happily. Still no noticeable growth on her tumor.
