Just as an aside, are you sure it's a pet mouse? It may just be a wild one that happened to be out during day.

Also, if it happens to be a pet mouse, there are many nice rescues in San Francisco that will take the mouse, like North Star Rescue.

He has a white mouse so I am guessing he is a pet. He is also pretty lethargic. Maybe even sick or just scared. The person who found this mouse said that they found him on the street and there was people in front of the house he was near. They said they were his owners but did not want him anymore so released him. The person I got him from could not bear to see him die just sitting there like that so she offered to take him and they gave her a cage. Not sure if this is even a true story but that is what she told me. I have him now. I tried calling one place in San Francisco, I don't know if it was Northstar rescue but they said they would only take a mouse if it was found in that county

Definitely a domestic mouse if he is white. That is likely the Humane Society you called. I found a rabbit and they told me the same thing - I didn't find it in that city so they would charge me $20 to take it. North Star rescue specializes in rodents, I think he would do really well there. However, it does say the animal has to be healthy at the time you surrender him there, so I'm not sure... If he's sick they may not take him.Kitkat1390 wrote:He has a white mouse so I am guessing he is a pet. He is also pretty lethargic. Maybe even sick or just scared. I will try and call them tomorrow morning. He looks really sick or shocked. He isn't moving much at all. Unfortunately I don't think he will even survive the night...

I have a veterinarian I can recommend, at All Creatures pet hospital in El Cerrito.
