Mouse Names
Hello! So, I have decided that I would get four female mice once I get the room for them. I Am not sure how they will look, but I decided that I would name three Zelda, Sputnik, and Blossem. Any ideas for the name of the fourth mouse? I would want a name that means something in another language, but It doesn't matter.

Re: Mouse Names
For some reason, I like short, simple nature names for my mice. For inspiration I look at names of plants, trees, flowers, etc. That's just me though. I do like to wait and see their personalities and how they look though. Like, I wouldn't want to name a black mouse Snowflake or something of the sort, right? My Rocky is named Rocky because he looks like rocky road (marshmallows and chocolate!). Those are just ways I come up with names, maybe find your own kind of theme, or find what works best for you to think of names.

Re: Mouse Names
Thanks for the advice! I might name her Freesia, which is a very pretty flower, but I am open to more suggestions.

Re: Mouse Names
Freesia is a pretty name.
I've mostly done theme names with my groups of mice. My first group of girls, my kids chose food names. Daryl was named when I adopted him and we just kept it. My second group of girls I brought home around Christmas time so I picked names with holiday meanings. Then Hazel was sort of random because I brought her home a month later, so I just let my youngest pick a name from a list. Then the third group of girls I brought home in Feb have names that are from 2 shows I watch and a book I was reading at the time.

Re: Mouse Names
It took me forever to name my mice Here are some pretty ones from the list I made when I was naming my girls:
Olive, Agnes, Pastel, Paisley, Allura, Ardelle, Coarl, Fawn, Kirbi, Winnie, Sprite, Leia
I have no idea if those names have meanings in other languages, but I'll try to find some that do:
-Amora/Amoura- "Amor"= "love" in spanish, "amour"= "love" in french
-Makea- "sweet" in Finnish
-Piccolo- "small" in Italian (also the name of small flute-like instrument that plays super high pitched)
-Ai (pronounced "eye")- Chinese. "ài" means "love, affection" and "ǎi" means "friendly".
-Zahra- "flower" in Egyptian and "white" in Arabic
-Flor(a)- You could add the a if you want. "Flor"= flower in Spanish, Catalan, Galician, and Portuguese
Depending on her color, you could also do one based off of what that color would be in another language. Here's a few:
For the color white:
-Blanca- spanish
-Bianca- Italian
-Bela- Slovenian
-Zuri- Basque
For the color black:
-Nera- Italian
For the color brown:
-Marron- French
-Morena- "dark haired" in Spanish
-Cafe- Spanish
For the color Grey:
-Liath- Italian

Re: Mouse Names
Alright so this is gunna sound a little cheesy but I like letting the mousie tell me their name. I go about handling and taming them and usually an idea will come to me. I once handled a mouse and had the idea of an acorn falling. For some reason it felt like it suited him, so I decided some sort of communication had occurred between us and he was telling me his name.
/endcheese This method is all about what sort of associations you make when interacting with the mousie. The wee one in my avatar was named Maps because of his markings and curious, exploring personality.

Re: Mouse Names
Thanks you guys so much for the suggestions! I just found the right names, but unfortunately I realized that I wouldn't be able to get any more mice at the moment, especially because I already have quite a few pets. I am going to keep the names in file for the next mice I get! The names are:
Zelda
Sputnik
Freesia
and Demitri
All very weird!
