Mouse sleeping a lot
For the past three days my mouse has been sleeping a lot, even during the night. She eats but not as much and I haven't seen her get a drink. Up until this morning she was living alone (I thought she was a male) so I thought she was depressed. I got another female to keep her company but she's still sleeping a lot. Does it take a while for a mouse to get out of their funk or is there something more going on?

There wasn't any fighting when you introduced the mice? we don't recommend just plopping mice in like that but what's done is done. if they are along, great.
are you sure the first mouse isn't pregnant? How long have you had her?

There hasn't been any fighting thus far. They've sniffed each other a few times but for the most part seem content to ignore each other. I've had the first mouse for two weeks.

Re: Mouse sleeping a lot
Update: the new mouse Poppy is getting a long really well with my old mouse who I renamed Lily. I even found them snuggled together underneath their bedding. However Lily is still sleeping a lot and to my knowledge has not been drinking. She is also really hunched over when she walks around or runs on the wheel. I am taking her to the vet tomorrow. I'd take her today but the vet is not in and he's literally the only small animal vet in my area.
I really hope she gets better soon. I'm worried.

Lilly didn't make it. I found her body on her favorite slide this morning. Thank you everyone for your words of encouragement.

Oh my gosh no! It just broke my heart hearing that. I'm so sorry for your lose, but at least she passed on her favorite spot! I bet she had a great life <3
