Clue and Mahjong

...because I have no self control. 
Went to the pet store Thursday with no intention of buying any animals... and left with two mice and a rat. We went to pick out a rat toy for my roommate's birthday, but instead I got him the tiniest baby rat! ((Pip-rat picture))
Also fell in love with two more baby girls, Clue and Mahjong. (To be fair, I have been wanting to name one Clue since before I adopted Checkers... so it was only a matter of time
)
Clue, pink-eyed white (I think)
Mahjong, long-haired fawn and white
They're getting along great with my other girls, and they all seem to be enjoying their new, bigger bin! I did forego quarantine but I took them all immediately to the vet before letting the two newbies settle in (they needed check-ups anyway), and they got a clean bill of health. And, of course, I'm watching everyone carefully to make sure there are no signs of illness or aggression.
This is it though, I'm absolutely not able to get any more mice, I've set a hard limit now.At least until we move.

I can only see the rat, but congratulations! Sorry if this sounds rude though, but do you know how to care for rats? Sorry just I love rats myself and I get very concerned about their health. Just so you know (sorry if this all sounds mean I a trying not to) but rats should be housed together. Yes, rats like dogs can have human companions, but they really need one of their own kind so they can groom each other, eat with each other, play and all that rat stuff. Especially since you can't be with your rat all the time and since he is young and full of energy I recommend getting another one which is also the same age. I am sorry, but this is just the hard truth and not to be mean but just please try to research more especially before you buy the pet. I know that you probably think I am mean, but I am just concerned because I don't want this rat to grow up and become depressed if you want you can pm me if you need help with rat care or tips or helpful links. Again sorry if this sounded mean I am just concerned about your pet!

I don't think you're mean at all- just that you're passionate about animals. But Pip isn't the only rat in the house, my roommate already has two boys. They are older but we're currently introducing them slowly and they will have supervised playtimes until he's big enough to live with them permanently (and is over his Petco sniffles, which we've already taken him to the vet for).
But yeah, he's a new rat but by all means is not their first (or only) rat, and I promise he's being taken care of.
