Happy Mouse! (And Parent)
**Squeals with delight**
So a while back I had a thread that was wondering if some mice just don't use their wheels because Colin wasn't using his. So I've been giving him a load of other toys - particularly things that move as he has always been wary of things moving (including my hand when he's on me). In this weeks cage clean, I decided to put his comfort wheel back in.
I've since discovered that he absolutely loves his wheel now! He runs on it for a while, then he'll jump off and spark all over the place before coming back and doing it all over again! So cute!! Just like he is after a run about the floor in his ball!
Ahhh, Colin makes me so happy when he does things like that! (Particularly when he sparks over new toys that I've made him )

Yaaay Colin that's great news! Good to know that he'll be getting lots of exercise! What a sweetie
Maybe he'd even be up for trying a flying saucer wheel now

I'm going to be leaving him with this one for a while while he's worked out how to use it (or a very similar one that doesn't require the cage completely dismantled to spot clean it...bad design...) and then introduce the flying saucer in a couple of weeks time :-)

Yay! Sometimes it just takes them a while to get it.

I'm glad he's discovered the wheel. Mice look like they have so much fun on wheels.

Re: Happy Mouse! (And Parent)
He certainly seems to be having a great time - last night was like he couldn't bear to leave it alone!
He'd run for bit, have a drink and then headninto his fleece house in his normal 'I'm going to sleep now' way, but then he'd get up a few minutes and repeat the process! It was so cute to watch! :-)

When I get older mice I can tell when they've never seen a flying saucer, they try to stand on top of it first and seem puzzled at being rotated back to ground level But it never takes long before they understand.stephlisa wrote:I'm going to be leaving him with this one for a while while he's worked out how to use it (or a very similar one that doesn't require the cage completely dismantled to spot clean it...bad design...) and then introduce the flying saucer in a couple of weeks time :-)

Re: Happy Mouse! (And Parent)
Nestmouse: that was Colin this evening! I put him in his play box while I cleaned out his home and included the flying saucer. He still doesn't understand that one, but he's continuing to use his comfort wheel! :-)
