Hello everyone!

I'm new to the mouse world and looking for lots more information! I have 5 female (I hope) mice who I just brought home two weeks ago. I never actually really wanted mice until I was at the pet store one day and saw these five adorable baby mice. I finished my shopping and came back just to see their cute little faces again. I asked the employee if they made good pets, to which she laughed and replied that they were not pets but rather food for snakes. I just couldn't bare the thought of those little mice being fed to a snake, so I bought them. I know, it's terrible to purchase pets from pet stores because it sends a signal to the owners that people want to continue to buy from there but I really just fell in love with these little girls. Also, my husband had been making fun of me for months for never doing anything impulsive. Let's just say he no longer complains about that! I bought them a 55 gallon terrarium and decked it out with two wheels, hideouts, etc. I watched a ton of Youtube videos (especially Anna's Animals) and decided that the 55 gallon tank was a bit too small. (It was a breeder tank so it was wide but very short). I found a 120 gallon tank that seems perfect so far. The mice seem happy and well adjusted for the most part. I can pet 4/5 of them gently most of the time and I'm working on the fifth one! Their names are Tangerine, Clementine, Mrs. Meesqueeks, Luna and Quill. I've been experimenting with building climbing structures with wooden sticks but have been combing the beaches to find the perfect piece of driftwood. I'm going to include a photo of my cage; if you have any suggestions I would be happy to hear them!

It's too funny that your impulsive behavior was bringing home mice. What a surprise it must have been! Bahaha. Haha
