Mouse jumping high?
Hello! My female pet mouse has recently been jumping so high she can almost reach the top of the cage. she's always "popcorning", but this is different. I don't know why she's doing this, and it's scaring me. She has fresh food and water everyday, I clean their cage out every week, and I always hold her and play with her. I'm so afraid, can someone help?

Re: Mouse jumping high?
Many mice do this. I have found it is because they want to get out and explore. My females did this quite a lot so what I recommend is ,if you don't have one already, add a mesh lid to prevent her from getting out. As the saying goes the grass is always greener on the other side and this is what she is thinking.

my females used to do this when they were younger (they were around 7 weeks oldish) i think its a pretty normal mousey thing

Yep, sounds like she’s trying to get out. Mice are awesome jumpers (and climbers) so even on tall enclosures a secure lid is necessary.
If you think she may be bored try rearranging her toys, offering new things to explore (check out Totally Free Toy Ideas and Homemade Popsicle Stick Toys), and upping her out-of-cage play time.
