Help! My mouse escaped!
I had two mice in two cages, one didn't have a secure like and the cat knocked it over. One of the mice escaped and is now hiding in my mattress. I put food out in an empty cage right next to the hole, but he still won't come out. Any suggestions?

First and foremost: patience. They're skittish little fellows and they're easily spooked. However, they need to eat and drink, so eventually they will have to come out of the mattress! Another thing is that they're nocturnal, so you may see him coming out after dark.
Keep your cat out of the room he's hiding in, and do your best to seal off any possible exits from the room. They're pretty good escape artists, so be careful around doors and especially any cracks in the walls/furniture that he could disappear into.
Then, you may want to use a safe mouse trap, or a DIY bucket trap or something similar. Here's an example of one that may work to help you find him!

Well he came out today and he's back home. We actually have four cats in the room, but only one is really interested in the mice. Two of the cats are actually afraid of them.
