Pet store mouse gave birth

I went to the pet store today to look at the animals and supplies like I frequently do, and to my surprise in the 'female fancy mice' tank was a large mouse in the corner, with about 6 tiny pink babies scattered around her. They were squirming, but the mother looked exhausted and was not nursing them at the time. The other mouse were walking all over the babies! The staff worked to separate the mom and her babies, and a couple of hours later I came back to ask how they were doing. They said the mother was stressed and would probably feed the babies when she had calmed down.

I am still worried... do you think the babies and mom would be okay? The fact that the mom wasn't reacting to the babies when I saw them in the tank really concerns me... I would have offered to buy the family but I was afraid of causing more harm than good.

Awww, that is so sad.

Maybe check back with the pet store again tomorrow and see how momma and babies are doing.

I hope they will be ok.

If you're able to provide for them (and it won't put too much stress on you!) I'd say buy them, I don't trust the pet store people to take proper care of them. Undecided
