Trimming mouse nails?

Hi all, has anyone found a way to sand down their mouse's nails. My mouse has ulcerative dermatitis and will not stop scratching, and I saw that a certain study showed that trimming their nails cured most mice with the condition. Obviously, I won't even attempt to cut her nails, but I want to at least try to make her nails less sharp. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Ok i have some suggestions but please take everything i say with a grain of salt, i know this from owning hammies.
my hamster lawrencium had SUPER sharp nails, when you picked him up they poked into your skin like a bunch needles. so i put a couple of washed rocks at the places he used most, so when he walks over them his nails will get sanded down, i had instant improvement within days. his nails where shorter and less sharp, they no longer poked your skin when you picked him up. the reson i say to take this with a grain of salt, is that i've never owned mice before and don't know if this would work.

I brought my little April home in mid-August 2015, so for the first few months I used to take her outside in the evening, after the sun was at least down behind the trees (so it couldn't hurt her little albino self), and let her walk about a bit on the sidewalk to keep her nails nicely buffed.
Once the cold set in, I took her to the vet for clipping twice, because I can't even trim my own nails without drawing blood. On the second trip, April had a major league freak-out when she was taken into the mousie spa without me, and she jumped about wildly, blacked out, and needed oxygen. We were advised not to come back for another manicure session.
What seemed to work pretty well after that was to give her a nice, smooth (but not polished) rock to climb up on to drink out of her water dish (it also kept the water dish from moving around), and to make some aerial walkways for her out of Styrofoam-based nail files (analogous to popsicle sticks, but bigger). She chewed on them a lot, too, but she seemed to understand that they were not for eating -- just for chewing.
