Re: Is my mouse overweight or just big?
Yellow mice and brindle mice often carry a gene that makes them prone to weight gain and obesity. Your mouse looks like a yellow. As long as she's on a balanced diet and isn't getting too many treats, there's not really anything you can do about it. It doesn't seem to affect their quality of life, so I wouldn't worry

She doesn’t look very chunky to me from what I can see in the pics. Like with any pet, don’t overdo unhealthy treats and give her plenty of exercise in and out of her cage. She should be just fine. Like was said above, yellow and brindle mice tend to be genetically prone to obesity. But mice have very high metabolism and need to eat very frequent small meals throughout the day/night, so restricting their staple diet is not an option. Along with a healthy seed mix, offer small pieces of fresh veg at least a few time a week. Cut out any sugary treats and back on very fatty ones. Daily play time out of the cage as often as you can (making sure there’s access to fresh water of course). Scatter feeding, food puzzles, or placing the food dish up high to encourage them to work for it more is good too.
