Tips for Water Spots Empty Tips for Water Spots

So now that I only have three mice, I'm going to move them back into a ten gallon. They're getting to be somewhat old, and none of my girls are very active, so I don't think they'll mind the smaller space. It'll probably just give Mabel and Egg more excuses to be obnoxiously snuggly with each other  Rolling Eyes. But when I brought up the old 10gal today, I noticed that it's covered in water spots! Does anyone have any tips for dealing with these? I'm going to try vinegar, but I'm beginning to suspect that these are gonna give me a real hard time.

Water spots - do those refer to stains left on the glass by water? Never heard that term before, but if so, I have the same problem! Not sure how you rid of them.

Yeah. They kinda look like grayish spots. They don't make the glass completely opaque, but they're really frigging annoying.

Vinegar should work if it's hardwater build up. May need to soak some though. But if the tank was used as an aquarium at some point, it may be the glass is etched and nothing will fix that.

It actually used to be a pacman frog tank before I switched to mice. So it wasn't filled, but it did get daily mistings. Hopefully it'll come off.

So I tried the vinegar, and for some reason, it only worked on two sides? Kinda weird. I guess I'll apply some more, wait a few hours, and see if it helps.

I haven't tried getting rid of the stains on mine yet. Maybe next cleaning!! It was used for a gecko well over 5 years ago, so I guess we have the same problem exactly.
