Would it be okay to introduce new females right after a death?
I really want to get a third or fourth mouse to liven up Skye and Freya after Whitney's passing. Would it be okay to introduce new mice while they are still adjusting? I want to keep the dynamic of the group going and I am scared what Skye and Freya's reaction to Whitney disappearance will be.

Well, before you can introduce any new mice, they first have to go through a three week quarantine so you can make sure you aren't introducing any illnesses to your current girls. Once that is over, then yes, you can introduce new girls.
I understand about worrying for your girls, though. I've always worried how my girls would react when my mice have passed, but I'm very lucky in that they always do just fine. Skye and Freya should be able to cheer each other up, but if they seem sad, just take them out for lots of playtime and keep them distracted with new toys. They should be able to adjust just fine.

I am going to a fair today, so maybe I will win some prizes that could be mouse toys!
I want to get a pet shop mouse for the experience.

Re: Would it be okay to introduce new females right after a death?
I actually picked up Sally before I picked up Sarah, and I picked her up with a different mouse named Molly. However, Molly died early on due to an extremely unfortunate accident. Sally and Molly had already bonded by this point though and were quite close, so Sally was quite saddened by the death.
Anyways, the day after Molly died I went to get a new mouse, since that's what happened to work out schedule-wise. At the time I didn't know you should quarantine the new mouse, so I just introduced the two straight away. I rubbed a little bit of vanilla on each of their rumps and put them in a box together and it went swimmingly. Both mice were in the same cage within the hour. Sally was overjoyed to have a new mouse to share her home with.

If Gabbi only had one mouse left, then it would maybe be okay to skip quarantine. But Freya and Skye have each other, and she's going to buy from a pet store. Skipping quarantine for a pet store mouse is very dangerous. I can't advise it.

I wasn't advising her to do so. I was only saying that in my experience, introducing does to each other shortly after a death has worked out fine.

Oh, okay! Well, even so, it's just important to clarify for any guests coming through who might misunderstand.
