I have already got the tank, but not the mice yet. I was going to get 3 female mice, but after doing further research i'm not sure. Some sources say its enough space, while others say it isn't. I can fit 2 wheels in there as well as a few other toys.

How tall is the tank? Mice like to climb so being able to attach ladders and hammocks to make more space might work however that is the bare minimum size. I would recommend getting a 110+ qt bin and making a diy cage. Inexpensive and more room for the little ladies

It is about 14in tall, and I was planning to add some hanging and climbing toys. When I get them they'll be quite small, but i'll look into getting a larger bin cage for when they are bigger. Thank you!

In my opinion, I would try to go a bit larger. I currently have three mice in a 600sq in cage and it works really well—ideally you’ll want to have enough room so your girls can get away from each other if they want, which I’m not sure you can do very well in a 288sq in cage.
Perhaps for a male that could work, but with the dynamics of a group of mice you’d likely be pushing it.
