Mouse with small white bump on her head

Hi!
My brown mouse, Ellie, has recently developed a white bump on her head that is starting to worry me. I’ve checked it over and it’s not fur, it’s a small bump equidistant from her eye and ear. She lives in a 600 sq inch bin cage with her sister, Molly, and they are both about 14 months old. I haven’t noticed many changes in her personality, although she is a nervous mouse so sometimes it can be hard to tell. My vet charges a substantial amount just to walk in the door, so being a teenager with a limited budget it wouldn’t be ideal to take her in if this is nothing. If someone knows what it is or has some advice, it would be much appreciated. I got some pictures while she was in her playpen, but she is fast so I apologize because they’re blurry. Thank you so much!!

I am sorry but I can't see the picture. However, based on your description of it looking white it could be an abscess. (Bacteria and pus under the skin). This is pretty common since it can just take a little abrasion from something like her sister grooming her and something to then get into it. You should not squeeze it yourself. A vet can lacerate it and clean it. They usually follow up with a round of antibiotics. If untreated the bacteria can spread to other parts of the body. You will want to insure the cage is cleaner than usual during treatment and healing. I line the bottom of the cage with paper towels and then shred some too and put it in there. It will be easier to spot clean and you can be sure there is no risk of further contamination. If you can take a video and uploaded it on YouTube you can copy the link. It might be easier to see the problem and you won't have to make her sit still.

Just in case anyone cares or someone comes onto this forum later with a similar concern, I live in the Pacific Northwest so because of our terrible forest fires I couldn’t get her into the vet until six days ago. She had to go into surgery to have it removed, and today I got the biopsy results back. It is a sebaceous adnoma which is a very rare type of benign tumor. Thank you AmyLynn for the help! I really appreciate it. We had a little mouse party to celebrate that it wasn’t anything lethal and as I type this she and her sister are enjoying two little circles of seedy bread that I put together to look like a tiny cake.
