Mice Urinating in Tubes

Hey everyone my two female mice seem to have chosen two spots in their tube to urinate in which they have to use to get from one floor to another, meaning they run through their urine all the time. This means I'm having to wash the tubes every day because it causes quite a bad smell and due to the holes in the tube the urine is coming through which isn't ideal.

If anyone has any suggestions of how I can encourage them to use another part of the cage to do this I would really appreciate it.

Try putting half a squashed flat toilet paper tube in each area they are using. They may stop using those spots but if they don't at least it is easier to change the toilet rolls weekly, then clean the tubes. You could try rubbing some Kleenex over their urine spots, getting the smell on them, then putting those Kleenex in a corner of their cage to possibly draw them there.

Not necessarily something you're able to do, but it might be worth switching your mice to an enclosure that doesn't use tubes. For an affordable option, DIY bin cages are my preferred enclosures, it takes a bit of handiwork but they're easy to clean, lightweight, and great for mice.
