Hello Everyone!

Hey everyone! I actually joined the old forum just a few days ago... I was so busy looking up information on housing and nutrition and such that I didn't even notice the post saying the forum was closing! Oops! Anyway. I'm new to mice, or at least I've never had one, but I've wanted mice for years I've just never lived somewhere I can actually have them. I'm hoping now that I'm in a house I can get them (renting a room from family, so we'll see what they say). But no mater what happens I wanted to have the right information so I'm prepared. I have my list of everything I need and want for either three females or one boy (I already have a ten gallon tank that used to belong to my betta before he passed). Anyway! Hi all!

Thanks everyone! I honestly hope I can get some mice.. I already have name ideas for girls and boys, so I've already made myself excited lol. I was reading that buying from pet shops runs the risk of pregnancy! That's a bit scary, but we have a lot of animal shelters out here that have mice now and then (no breeders to my knowledge, at least not good breeders.. I imagine I could find a bunch on craigslist, but I don't want to go that path). So I'll be trying at the shelters first (if I can get them) and go to a pet store last... If at all.

Shelters are a wonderful place to get your mice from. I would advise that you familiarize yourself with sexing so you can make sure you bring home the right genders. Shelters are about as good as pet stores when it comes to sexing, and bringing home the wrong sex of mouse can be disastrous.

Welcome! I hope you do manage to get some mice! They are wonderful as everyone has said - getting our little mouse was the best decision my partner and I have made!
