Baby mouse care
Saturday I found an abandoned baby mouse in my shed. It has fur but not much and it's eyes are closed still. I immediately went out and bought liquid kmr for it. I have been feeding it every 3 hours for the past few days. I rub it's belly right after feedings, but noticed it hasn't peed on me yet. It does poop, but it's mostly liquidy. Last night I noticed it looked a little swollen in the belly and this morning it was squealing when I rubbed it's belly. I've been using warm water on qtips and cotton balls to make it go to the bathroom and still no urine. Only mostly liquid stool. I decided to switch it to Pedialyte for the day to maybe hydrate more and hopefully help it pass the stool? It started moving around a lot more and is now climbing all over everything and squeaking a lot. I am hoping this is a good thing? It's belly doesn't look as swollen. Just around it's butt area. Can someone please tell me if I am doing the right stuff here?

Re: Baby mouse care
Welcome! Here's a thread with lots of information on caring for wild mice, adults and orphans... https://petmousefanciers.forumotion.com/t4-wild-mouse-mice-care-and-information
This one goes into a little more detail about raising orphans, under the "Hand raising" section.

I'd guess that since he eats liquid, stool that's a little softer than you'd normally expect would be okay... though I've never raised baby mice so I couldn't say for sure. I do know that they're pretty wiggly, so if you're sure that he's comfortable I wouldn't worry about him climbing around. Hopefully the above info can help you ensure that you're doing everything right, it sounds like you're doing well.
Good luck with him!
