She's here!

Today's the day! I brought home a little black mousie. Everyone, meet Violet.
She is about 13 weeks old and is very sweet. She has obviously been handled well already, as she was very calm in my hands when I went to put her in her cage. In fact, I had to hold my hand on the floor of the cage for about 10 seconds before she decided to get off me. She still has that shiny and brand new look that baby mice have
Honey will be very happy when she gets to meet her great-niece Violet. I might have to officially change Honey's name to Aunt Honey

I usually give mice a couple of days before I start handling, but I got a pretty confident vibe from her yesterday, so had her out for "human climbing frame" time today. She's very brave indeed. She was very calm in my hands, didn't mind when I tried to stroke her, and sat in the nook of my elbow cleaning herself for ages (which I would think she'd only do if she felt safe there).
So I think we'll be best buddies in no time
