Straws

I'm wondering if 'bendy straws' are safe for mice. I notice them on a ton of bird toys, and thought they might make a nice addition to a DIY toy. I found a photo of them on the internet to attach below, if you're unsure what I'm talking about.

They look colourful, but I'm not sure what benefit they would have for mice? Although I could see them as say ladder rungs for example. I'd be worried about them chewing on it too but maybe I'm a little paranoid about plastic products...

I let the girls play with them during supervised playtime only, and they seem to like them - they tend to use them as a toss toy.
Even so I'm still hesitant to offer them in non-supervised play, as I'm not sure if they could chew it into a sharp edge as it is soft plastic(ish). Perhaps I'll find another non-wood, sturdier toss-toy for them. Thanks!

Supervised should be fine. You could always use a safe material rope like sisal for an easy toss toy, and if you want something fun a lot of people on Etsy sell homemade toss toys. Bunny sections of stores also tend to have a lot of toss toys because bunnies love them.

I use paper straws pretty often in diy toys. They do like to chew them and move them around. I wouldn't use the plastic ones.
