Birthday Gifts!
Hi!
I know, I know mice love anything you make them! However, in celebration of their first birthday I would love to get them a few things to play with. I would prefer something durable, like perhaps ceramic or plastic! Anyone have a favorite toy of this description I could get them?
Any other more destructible suggestions are accepted as well.
They turn one on May 10th! Or, at least, Maier will -- Graham can't be much younger.

Most of my ceramic or plastic things are thrift store finds, so if you have a thrift store nearby check them out. I've repurposed wax burners, kitchen scrubby holders, and tea light holders as hides. Cute little ramekins and candle holders for food dishes. I've managed to find 3 plastic toy play houses that would work for them too and they love.
You can also check out resin aquarium decorations. I have a resin root thingy that they've all liked climbing and hiding behind. Check for sales or used thrift store finds as they can be expensive.
These are a little pricey and a little bit of a pain, but loved and on sale right now. https://m.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/small-animal/small-animal-toys-habitat-accessories/kaytee-puzzle-playground-small-animal-jungle-gym
As for more destructible toys.
Mine loved the corn husk tube I got them for their bday in Nov. It lasted for a few weeks too. I believe it was by Living World.
Rattan or willow balls are always a hit, but quickly destroyed. I recently picked up a sisal jingle ball that they've had fun with.
The knot nibbler is usually well loved by mice.
My girls also really seem to love :

And of course those bird coconut hides and bird ladders are usually well loved.
Hope this helps. I couldn't remember if you were the one with mice that are allergic to wood...I'll try to think of more non-wood things to add.

How about plastic ladders. I got Mickey's ladder in the bird section of PetSmart. Plastic tubes.

Thanks!
I wonder if something with wood pulp in it would bother Grahams allergy?
