D'aww, he's a cutie! His coat is gorgeous! He looks to be some sort of tri-color.

Re: Meet Oscar!!
Thank you all! He’s amazing. He was a complete gem to find at only $3.99! and he was hand raised so he’s super sweet. I’ve had rats for years but this is my first male mouse so advice is appreciated!

Re: Meet Oscar!!
Also, could he possibly be brindle? He almost looks like it to me..? Does that mean he has a higher risk of becoming obese..? Sorry I’m new to this

Re: Meet Oscar!!
If he is brindle, then yeah, hes gonna get fat. Not much you can do about that. But he doesnt really look it to me! Hes hecking adorable, by the way!

Re: Meet Oscar!!
He looks like a broken brindle or a tricolor to me, but he's definitely a satin!
I have a brindle currently. They can get chubby, but a few months ago I had this massive self black and she lived a long healthy life disregarding her weight. Dont worry too much about it.

Re: Meet Oscar!!
He's very silky and sleek, so yes, I would say so. Normal coat mice wouldn't have that texture with those colors.

Re: Meet Oscar!!
He is the cutest! A satin brindle was my first impression, but a different lighting and/or use of flash may show something different. Brindles are pretty common but can be such oddball things when it comes to markings and patterns.
I wouldn't worry too much about his weight yet. A lot of brindles do get fat, but some stay pretty average. The parents of my brindle litter were slim, but 4/5 of their brindle babies got huge!
I like his name, too.
