We rescued a dog??

As told in Jubilee Story mode:

So yesterday was CRAZY! There I am minding my own business playing word maker, when suddenly the doorbell rings. My little sister answers the door to see a boy holding a dog. He's holding it in one hand around its belly. It's tail is tucked between its legs and the poor thing's shaking. "Is this your dog?" He asks. I answered no. I petsit so I told him I knew that none of the other neighbors owned him. He told me he found the dog by the gate of our neighborhood, and that he didn't want him because he had three dogs already. I took a closer look at the dog. It looked young, but I couldn't tell the way he was being held. He had wiry white fur with a little spot of brown on the tip of his ears. Big brown button eyes add to his scruffy sweetness. "Well, I'll go check the others, I guess.." The boy said, and with that he walked off. I was a wee bit concerned after seeing the way he held the poor pup, so I creepily watched from the window. He walked over to the next door neighbors, asked them, and then stooped down before he began walking up the hill. Then I noticed something.. He did't have the dog. My eyes flitted about, searching for the little white fuzzy. And then I found him. Sitting by the curb. The boy had put him down and then walked off. I continued to watch. The boy looked back a few times, but didn't go back when the dog didn't follow him. He was leaving him! I kept watching until the boy disappeared from view, and the dog started walking away. I walked outside and looked up the road. No boy. The dog on the other hand, noticed me and skipped over. He licked my face and whimpered. I gently picked him up, and realized that he was very young! I took him inside and explained the situation to my parents. My dad gently examined him (Dad' a vet) and stated that he was 12 week old. He still has all his baby teeth! My mom smiled and stated that he looked like a rat. She said that we'd have to check to see if he had a home, and that she didn't want to keep him. She put him on a website for lost dogs. Last night I heard her talking to him, and this morning she smiled when she saw him. Who knows? Maybe he's growing on her! My mom suggested we call him Tucker, so we agreed (Mom naming a dog? hmmm...). Tucker is living with us for now. He's the sweetest thing and loves to snuggle, play and give LOTS of doggy kisses. We bought him puppy food and let him sleep in our kitty crate. He barked and yelped a lot last night, so we put him in the garage. My mom thinks he was dumped because of this. He'll live with us until we find his home, and if we don't he might stick around! I recently have been going through a tough time, and really needed this. One things for sure. He is one sweet little puppy, and we are blessed to have him even for a short time!

Aww poor guy. I’m glad to hear you guys are helping him! Be sure to report that you found him to your local shelter and get him checked for a microchip. They’ll have no issue with him staying with you until (if) an owner is found, but in most places you need to report a found pet because they’re often legally viewed as “property” so it could be considered theft. Just FYI so you can cover all your bases. Wink
