Basil's Illness

I know its been a while since I've been around, but we've been having a pretty rough time of it with Basil, so unfortunately this post is a little sad. I mostly wanted to give you all an update. I've posted this in the health section as I couldn't decide where best to place it.
Unfortunately he's got the same (almost certainly genetic) condition that poor Pumpkin had. Random fits, generally feeling under-the-weather. Its not nearly so bad, but he's gradually getting worse but he doesn't seem in pain or suffering most of the time. We're waiting to the right time to say enough is enough.
We've been in consultation with the vet and we are all agreed that there is very little we can do now, only manage the symptoms best we can and make sure he's happy. Its a sad state of things here and this has prevented me from visiting the forum.
