Help with substrate Empty Help with substrate

Hi,

Would love some advice please. I’ve had my baby texel since last Thursday and have been using dust free hay as substrate. He seems to love it. Likes to burrow in it and sometimes sleeps underneath. Question is am I ok to continue to use just the hay as substrate? Does anyone else here use it?

If it works for you and he has had no negative reactions, it’s fine. After determining bedding is safe, it’s really just personal preference. There’s more on bedding here: https://www.petmousefanciers.com/t36-cleaning-odor-and-bedding.

I’ve used hay in addition to other bedding. My mice enjoyed chewing on it and nesting with it.
