Walnuts poisonous??
I bought some walnuts as treats for my mice since I have seen a lot of confirmation they're ok for mice, but the RSPCA website says walnuts are poisonous to mice! RSPCA is the Australian/British equivalent of ASPCA.

Is this just an error or does it mean there is a possibility of mice being allergic to it? I haven't given them any yet.

Re: Walnuts poisonous??
I believe it’s misinformation. Sites like that tend to take things that are considered harmful to one animal as unsafe for all. Also, I believe there’s some confusion on different types of walnuts. It’s my understanding that english walnuts are perfectly safe. Raw black walnuts though are not safe to eat.
I keep plain roasted english walnuts on hand for my mice (when I’ve had mice) - sold in the baking section of most grocery stores. They’re a favorite treat. Haven’t had a mouse who didn’t like them yet.
