Weaning Time Empty Weaning Time

Post by comeintotheuzumaki Thu 05 Sep 2019, 9:47 pm

The three babies my had just turned 22 days old today, so it time to start weaning them. I just separated them from their parents and while I was at it, I took the time to sex them, looks like I have 2 males (the black one and black and white one) and a female (the brown one.)

Here’s our black male, Jonathan.

Also, I would get pictures of them outside of a cage, but they’re a bit skittish and jumpy right now, so it’s really difficult, but here’s at least a couple of pictures of Erina and Joseph I managed to snag.

They are adorable.

You mentioned they are 22 days old (3 weeks)? This is actually a week too early to be separated from their mother. They should have been left with her for 4 weeks, no shorter. Males would then (at 4 weeks) need to be placed in their own separate cages. Females can stay with mom. Ah, I see, I guess I was misinformed, thanks for letting me know.

They’re doing really good, they’ve been moving around a lot recently, they really like jumping especially. They’re not quite there yet but it looks like Thursday slowly starting to get used to me.
