cant open her eye!!

my girl coconut is almost 2 and I have recently given her some new cage mates as sadly her sisters passed. they don't squabble much but I have just noticed that one of her eyes is glued shut with what looks like puss.. I'm going to try to give it a clean but it will be quite stressful, how long should I wait before taking her to the vets (especially during covid when things are a lot more expensive and dangerous) I think I night wait a few days to see if it goes down as puss is a sign of healing as it means the body is fighting infection. any advice and do you think it was one of her new cage mates??

While you wait, you can mix up a little saline solution (1 tsp of salt to a pint of boiled water) and apply it to her eye. I like to place the mouse in a small tallish container like a mini bucket, and apply using an eye dropper. I will additionally give the mouse a treat like a seed if she doesn't stay still for the first attempt. The seed munching keeps them still!
