Astra

I went up to the tank this morning to feed the girls, and wondered why only two mice came to the food bowl today when i refilled it and figured Astra was still sleeping. Turns out, I was right.
She had two large tumors, I have no doubt it was cancer. I don't know of her age, but she was full grown when I got her, last Thanksgiving. She was one of my first three girls, of which I only have Ellie left. She has the same tumor.
I buried her in a box willed with treats and tp rolls and tissue in the forest, under the same tree I buried Merci an eternity ago. I hope they are running around together, wherever they are.
I don't know what else to say except that Ellie and Suzie are fine for now and I would like to find them a third friend eventually.
Rest in Peace, Astra. Keep smiling on, just like you did for my profile picture...

Sorry to hear about Astra. Sounds like she had a full life and went peacefully, and was given a beautiful send-off.

So sorry to hear about Astra but the burial sounds beautiful. All of my girls are buried in front of my house, under the dwarf lemon tree, so they're together and I am reminded of them every time I go out the door.
