Mice keep climbing on mesh lid.
Is this normal silliness or should I be concerned?
It is so loud at night

Normal, but sometimes a sign of boredom. Do they get time out of the cage? Do they have a wheel and plenty of climbing toys?

They have a wheel but they never use it :c
We do have a ladder, upper floor, wicker and tubes to climb. I'm adding some cork bark later today.
They haven't had much time out of the 20 gal because they are still kinda scared of us, although they are slowly gaining confidence

Re: Mice keep climbing on mesh lid.
Hi, Shadoo! Yes, that isn't abnormal for mice to do that. Some of my mice did that, and some didn't. As @Peachy said, it could be a sign of boredom, and maybe they're wanting to escape because of it. But they won't be able to escape out of those teeny-tiny mesh holes! And some mice don't use wheels, but a majority of them do. Daniel, my first mouse, didn't use his wheel for maybe the first few days I had him, then he started to use it a little, and when he was older, he used it a lot. Lydia, one of my current mice, used to not use it. And for a long time, sort of, she just wouldn't. But then eventually she started to. Whereas a different mouse I had for a few days took to it almost immediately. So maybe your mice just need time to 'feel a desire' to use it, so to speak. And it's okay to start holding them even with them scared of you; how will they ever calm down and get used to you if you don't handle them? Just be patient and gentle, and most of your mice should warm up as fast as a normal mouse should. =)

No problem! And what cute mice; the black-and-white one reminds me of Daniela, one of my mice.
