DIY Climbing Ropes
This is a fun, cheap, and easy craft. You'll enjoy it almost as much as your mice do!!!!!
What you'll need:
-A couple old t-shirts (depending on how many colors you want
- Good fabric scissors
-Clips to attach to your mouse cage ️
- Time to kill
Step 1: Grab a shirt and start at the bottom. Cut around and around the shirt in an upwards spiral to form one continuous strip about half an inch thick. If you want multiple colors, do this to more than one shirt.
Step 2: Grab a family member and stand across the room. Have each of you take one end of the long strip, and then pull! If you're alone, just do it yourself, tugging at each section individually. This will turn the flat strip into t-shirt yarn.
Step 3: Cut 6 pieces of yarn, each one 2-3 inches longer than how long you want the rope to be. If you have multiple colors, divide the 6 pieces among those colors accordingly.
Step 4: Line up all the pieces and tie a knot at the top. Tape the end with the knot to the table. Then divide the pieces into 3 groups, 2 strands in each group.
Step 5: Begin to braid the 3 groups of yarn. When you reach the end, tie another secure knot.
Step 6: Attach clips to both ends of it's a horizontal rope, and to one end if you want it to hang vertically. Hang the rope in the cage and let your mice enjoy!
Note: I tried to upload more pictures, but it didn't work so well.
Hope you and your mice enjoy!
