Re: What are you doing today?
I live in Cornwall :bop: and the roads can be a nightmare at some points! Also Cornish pasties are delicious! However seagulls can be a real pain, they just swoop down and snatch your food. I almost forgot about Cornish ice-cream (yum!) There is so much history here, like the mines and tin. When you get away from big towns (considered small to most people) you can see the beautiful landscapes, it is also said that we have superb beaches.
Some images I just found off google images
I'm not doing much today, I might pop out later though as it seems to have stopped raining!

Re: What are you doing today?
Oooh that looks awesome!!! We'll be going to Cornwall soonish. I hope the weather is a little warmer down South... But I won't be surprised if it isn't! Anyway we'll be going down to Port Isaac and stuff. I know I need to try Cornish pasties... Never heard of Cornish ice cream! I'll have to keep that in mind.
Speaking of Sunday roast, we'll be having one tomorrow even though it isn't Sunday, because we'll be moving on away from our relatives on Sunday so Saturday is the last day for them to feed us! Saturday roast just doesn't sound as good though XD
Hm. I fear I've somewhat hijacked this thread. Anyone, feel free to carry the conversation elsewhere.... Lol

Re: What are you doing today?
This is exactly what this thread is for, so it's not really hijacked.
Today I'm working in the yard. It seems like I get one corner cleaned up and another is overgrown again. I can't keep up! Agh.
This play thing needs to come down, it's unstable and has no swings, but we're just not sure how to go about it. At least the cat enjoys it!!

XD okay good
Haha, that's funny!! She looks adorable going down that slide! We've always moved regularly, so we never had to worry about old play sets in the backyard

Re: What are you doing today?
Well artist wolf the trouble is it seems like autumn weather is going to arrive here in the next few weeks, (despite it being almost August) brown leaves are starting to fall already! You will be lucky if you catch the good weather, it rains 90% of the time here O.o Never know, we might get a good spell!
Abeona - I love black cats! They are so cute! When I had a slide as a child I would try to run up it with socks on, it was a real challenge!
Should be setting up the tank for the girls later, will be sure to post some pictures! All I am waiting for to arrive is the food seed mix

Re: What are you doing today?
We have a very similar play set in the back yard. Freya (dog) used to love climbing up there to nap but never used the slide. How cute!
Funny, most of the time I feel the same way about the house as you do the yard. Went through and cleaned out the mouse treats, which of course left a mess in the kitchen for me to clean. Now I need to get to cleaning the mouse and leo tanks, which I'm sure will lead to cleaning that room as well.

Lol, it's cute that the dog liked to nap up there! I moved the ladder because it was in the way while I mowed, so my cat just runs straight up the side. It's scary.

Re: What are you doing today?
Hi! I've been pretty quiet the last few days. I hurt my knee (bad) then had to get an MRI, which showed that I tore my cartilage and that there was a lot of unusual edema in there. Then my whole leg swelled up and my doctor wanted to make sure I didn't have a blood clot, so I had to go get an ultrasound and some bloodwork. Good news, I'm not dying but they don't know why my whole leg is swollen. So that's cool. And with torn cartilage, I can either have surgery or just live with pain. So that's also cool.
But I caught up on sleep today, which *was* cool. And then I made blueberry pancakes for myself and the critters. So later, we're going to have another going away party in the kiddie pool for Gilly & Furgie, featuring blueberry pancakes and lots of cool toys. Then later when the chinchillas wake up, I'll chase them around for a while. They still don't really like to be pet... but Chloe makes the cutest noises when she wants me to get my hands off her. It just makes me want to do it more! They sure are fun. The only thing I don't like about them is their strick diet, I can only give them like one good treat once a week! It's killing me! They have really fragile digestive systems. They really like chewing wood though, so sometimes you can give them a special stick as a treat. Sounds boring, right?
Oh, I did something sorta fun. My critter room has been hamster proofed, so they can run around in there safely. But only the big ones. Poor Katie, she's my friendliest, and she really wanted to run around, too. So it took some careful detailing but I did it, I Katie proofed the critter room, so she can run around safely now. She loves it. I love watching those little dwarfie hams run. Their funny little butts wiggling around, lol. I put little treats around the room, so they feel real proud of themselves when they find something

Re: What are you doing today?
Yay! I wondered where you were. lol Happy to know you're okay, though sorry to hear about your knee/leg.
The hamster proof room sounds fun! I used to block the bathroom door and let the mice free range. It's just a tiny square room but they always seemed to have a lot of fun anyway. Hiding treats is a great idea!!

Eek! That does NOT sound like fun. I hope you'll feel better soon.
My friend has finally started watching Downton Abbey and I keep pestering her about what's happening XD Right now she's on season 4—she's a quick watcher! Although I guess she's just become obsessed as well XD

Re: What are you doing today?
I found a website, GSN.com, that offers BINGO games and have, shamefully, spent a lot of time yesterday and today playing my brains out! It's a free site where you earn points to keep playing and get bonus points each day just by logging in. The only downside was having to register to play on the site -- I hate giving out information so had to create yet another alter ego (made-up name and bogus email). It's a good thing I keep a manual list of all passwords, IDs, etc., or I'd have the wrong "person" logging into the wrong site .

Re: What are you doing today?
Oops, I missed this before! Ah, that's unfortunate All the trees I've seen have looked pretty lush and green, but then I'm just sort of trying to quickly take everything all in (and tbh I've been sleeping a lot in the car when we're driving—for some reason I feel tired all the time here! I think it's because we've been doing a ton of walking, and we have to get up at like 7:00 every morning and we've had late nights recently), anyway, I hope it'll be okay weather tomorrow when we're going to tour Highcere Castle! I mean, it is supposed to rain though. But it is England, I suppose—what did I expect? We're in Maidenhead now, staying in a hotel before we'll head off to Highclere and then Exeter (might have spelled that wrong, sorry). We just hired a different car, and it's a station wagon type thing that doesn't exist in the US, but we're struggling to drive on the narrow roads with this wide car!
Haha MesaMouse, now we know you're just a facade. Just kidding. I totally understand doing that! Sometimes I'll alter my name a little, even if it's just putting "Alli" instead of "Allison" and not putting my last name even when it asks for a full name XD

Re: What are you doing today?
Went to view a house today with my boyfriend. We need to be credit checked and approved by the landlord, but all being well we should be moved in towards the end of September.
I cannot wait it's hard work being moved back in with your parents once you've had a taste of freedom lol
